Archbold Macheka is a sub-Saharan Africa economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence , who has followed the region's economic and political developments over the past 10 years.Archbold is responsible for analyzing, modelling and forecasting economic conditions for Cameroon, Botswana, Gabon, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and São Tomé and Príncipe. He is also responsible for sovereign risk analysis and the day-to-day economic coverage of these economies. He has been in the socioeconomic field for eight years, previously serving as a research economist at Underhill Corporate Solution in South Africa, where he worked on sector-skills planning, monitoring and evaluation, and data collection and analysis projects for both public and private organizations.
Macheka earned a MSc in economics and a BSc honors in economics from the University of Zimbabwe. His native language is Shona and he speaks English proficiently.
