This report concerns the process economics for producing three nonnutritive and low calorie sweeteners: acesulfame-K, aspartame, and saccharin. It also presents a brief review on cyclamate, dihydrochalcones, high fructose corn syrup (WCS), hydrogenated starch hydrolyzates (Malbit'), L-sugars (left-handed sugars), stevioside (steviron), sucrose chloro-derivatives, thaumatin (Talinl), and some of the other sweeteners extracted from plants.
