Yuan Chengyin, born in Beijing in August 1974, currently serves as the director and general manager of the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center and the secretary-general of China Automotive Chip Industry Innovation Strategic Alliance.
An Industrial Engineering and Precision Instrument Bachelor and Master from Tsinghua University in China and Doctor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the U.S., Dr. Yuan has devoted himself to the advanced research and development of new-energy vehicles and the research and management of industrial strategies. He is an well-known expert on Li-ion batteries, electrical powertrain and vehicle integration and control, and has contributed enormously to breakthroughs in key technologies related to the new-energy vehicle industry, the establishment of an technological ecosystem and the research and development in management innovation. Yuan previously served as a senior researcher at General Motors Global Research and Development Center, deputy chairperson and executive vice president at Beijing Pride Power Technology Co., Ltd., chairperson at Beijing Electronics Holding & SK Technology Co., Ltd. and deputy general-manager at Beijing Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd.
Yuan has led a dozen national and local research-and-development projects, including the building of pure-electric passenger vehicles by BAIC Motor, the research and development and industrialisation of new-energy vehicle batteries and technological breakthroughs in power-system platforms for pure-electric commercial vehicles (category M3/N3). Supporting business development through independent innovation, he leads industrial advancements and enhances the core competitiveness of the automobile industry.
Serving as the director and general manager of the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center, Yuan has achieved interim results over the last three years. Upholding the operating principles of “reciprocal consultation, contribution, governance and sharing”, he and his team focus on the mission of “breaking through key industrial-generic technologies and enhancing the efficient transformation of technological innovations”, as they devote themselves to the building of transformation platforms for technological innovation and application that are “innovative, open and partnership-based”.
Yuan is also the recipient of Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers’, the Outstanding Young Manufacturing Leader Award from SAE, the 1st Prize of China Automotive S&T Award, the 1st Prize of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Award and the 1st Prize at the 23rd National Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Achievement.
He is a senior talent of the Beijing Overseas Talent Aggregation Project, expert member of the Special National Task Team for New Energy, specially hired expert of Beijing Municipality, member of the expert panel of the Evaluation Committee of Formal Professional Titles of Beijing Municipality, top-flight pioneer in Zhongguancun, chief expert of BAIC Group and visiting professor at tertiary institutes, including the Beijing University of Technology.
Yuan has published a personal monograph and over 30 papers in renowned national and international academic journals. He is also the owner of over 20 invention patents.

原诚寅，1974年8月生，北京人，现任国家新能源汽车技术创新中心主任、总经理，中国汽车芯片产业创新战略联盟秘书长。
清华大学（本硕）工业工程、精密仪器专业，美国伊利诺伊大学香槟分校机械工程博士。长期致力于新能源汽车技术研发与行业战略研究与管理工作，是动力电池、动力系统平台、整车集成与控制领域行业专家，为新能源汽车行业关健技术突破、产业生态建设、技术和管理创新探索与发展做出了重要贡献。曾担任美国通用汽车公司全球研发中心高级研究员，北京普莱德新能源电池科技有限公司副董事长、常务副总裁，北京电控爱思开科技有限公司董事长，北京新能源汽车股份有限公司副总经理等职务。
先后主持了北京汽车纯电动乘用车建设项目，新能源汽车电池研发及产业化项目，纯电动商用车（M3/N3类)动力系统平台技术攻关等十余项国家及地方技术研发与产业项目，以自主创新支撑企业发展、引领行业进步、提升汽车产业核心竞争力。
现任国家新能源汽车技术创新中心主任、总经理期间，带领团队以“突破行业关键共性技术和增强技术创新成果转化效能”为核心任务，以“共商、共建、共治、共享、共用”为运行原则，努力 建设“创新型、平台型、开放型、伙伴型”的技术创新和应用转化平台，三年来已取得了阶段性 成果。
获国际制造工程师协会(SME)杰出青年制造工程师奖、杰出青年制造领袖奖、中国汽车工业科 学技术奖一等奖、北京市科学技术奖一等奖、第二十三届国家级企业管理现代化创新成果一等奖等奖项。
是北京市海聚工程引进海外高层次人才、国家新能源重点攻关专项专家组成员、北京市特聘专家、北京市正高级职称评审组专家、中关村高端领军人才、北汽集团首席专家，北京工业大学等多所院校客座教授。
出版个人专著1部，国内外知名学术刊物发表论文20余篇，取得授权发明专利30余项。
